Draft Minutes 10.9.25
NOTES of the Hougham Parish Council meeting held on Wednesday 10th September at 7.30 pm in Hougham and Marston Village Hall.
Present: Cllr John Wright (in the Chair), Cllrs Peter Baker, Jane Forbes, Pam McAllister and Jo Wright, and Cty Cllr K Bamford. There were no members of the public present.
Cllr Bamford had circulated his Newsletter prior to the meeting. He asked that we put any issues into our Minutes and he will then pick them up from there and action. He is trying to encourage people to use the various portals such as Fix My Street, Faults Maintenance etc.
21/25. Apologies – there were none.
22/25. There were no declarations of interest.
23/25. The Minutes of the meeting held on 9th July had been read and approved and it
was unanimously agreed that the Chair should sign them.
24/25. Planning matters: S24/2190 – new agricultural workers building at land within Grange Farm – pending consideration. S25/0702- Site Management Plan for the Lodge – approved. S25/0874 – Single storey extension at 4 Manor Park – approved. S25/1226 – Detached granny annexe at Keepers Cottage, Westborough Road – approved.
25/25. Highway matters – 40 mph restriction signs on the C001 are now in place. It was confirmed that the new SID is effective and flashes at speeding motorists well before they get to the SID so that they are slowed down at the speed limit restriction point.
26/25 – Still no invoice for our share of car park repairs at Village Hall.
27/25 Financial matters –
Resolved to sign bank reconciliations at 31.7.25 and 31.8.25. The balance at 31.8.25 was £8,681.95.
28/25 – Councillors matters: Clerk to report two raised drain covers on Fix My Street. The first is on the north side of Keepers Cottage just before Westborough Road and the second is near the speed sign at the village green. There is now a booking on Wednesday nights at the village hall so our meetings need to move to 7.45 pm.
